Between the 19th of April and 27 of April SEPT Competence Center supported two Vietnamese start-ups – the winners of the International Innovators Award 2021 pitching competition. The startups @Greenjoy Straw and @Lagom Vietnam got an opportunity to reveal and to test the German and European markets during their stay in Europe. The SEPT team prepared and coordinated implementation of the program for the guests. During meetings with representatives of Economic Development Office the City of Leipzig as well as Invest Region Leipzig the delegation experienced about business opportunities and potential that Leipzig offers for the foreign companies. The group took also part in the networking event “Exchange of experiences between German and Vietnamese startups and companies” organized by SEPT Competence Center, association Deutsch-Vietnamesisches-Haus in Leipzig and the Economic Development Office the City of Leipzig. Participation in the event gave opportunities for networking with members of the Vietnamese community in Germany and German companies & startups.
SEPT organized for Vietnamese startups workshops and sessions e.g. about business culture in Germany, how to set up company in Leipzig, introduction to the German e-commerce market and important aspects of importing formalities and logistics from Vietnam to Germany. The delegation travelled to Erfurt and Jena visiting K1 – Gründungsservice, stores with organic products and learned about crowdfunding opportunities. Last but not least the delegation visited with the support of SEPT many potential customers and business partners interested in their sustainable products & solutions.
Apart from the stay in Leipzig, Erfurt and Jena both startups used the opportunity of travelling to Germany to take part in other big events and conferences in other European cites. Greenjoy visited the international trade fair for gastronomy and hotel industry in Hamburg – Internorga 2022. Lagom presented the Ecohanger during the 3rd Go Circular Summit in Antwerp discussing around the main plastics circularity challenges. The next edition of International Innovators Award pitching competition will take place in July 2022 in UII Institute of Innovation location in Ho Chi Minh City.
